I’m a writer living amongst the rugged hills of North Wales UK, and am passionate about crafting original, funny, moving stories to entertain my readers. I’m the author of two novels to date, the second of which – The Magician’s Wife – is the first in a brand new crime and impossible mystery series. It’s a story I’ve wanted to tell for more than six years, being a real-life magician’s wife myself!

After studying English Literature at Durham University, I began my career in the TV industry in London, reading scripts for ITV’s drama department and writing factual programme content and comedy material for the BBC, Channel 4 and others. I then spent well over a decade working amongst the UK magic scene, gathering up its most intimate secrets.

Together with my husband, the professional stage and TV magician Barry Jones, I’m the co-creator and co-host of the popular podcast The Magician’s Wife. In each episode, Barry and I delve into a baffling real-life mystery to try to work out the methods behind its effects, as though dissecting a magic trick. Our podcast is also breaking new ground by way of its unique, interactive audio illusions!

My debut novel The Woman in the Wallpaper - a dark mystery set against the blood and turmoil of the French Revolution - came out in February 2025. It sold to a UK big five publisher in June 2023, in a whirlwind twenty-four hour, major six-figure pre-empt, with North American rights selling the following working day in a second six-figure pre-empt. The novel has since been translated into six languages.

Originally from North Wales, after living in London my husband and I relocated back to the Welsh borders. We now live in an 18th century farmhouse overlooking an ancient Welsh valley brimming with legends dating back millennia. Here, we are in the process of rewilding the sixteen acre plot around our home.
